We all want to claim that title for our home towns but on a day like today, when Sydney is at its humid, sunny, sparkling best, it is hard to not want to say that we live in a pretty neat part of the scrub. Our company washup for the year was spent in a pirate “treasure hunt” (other than the one we are engaged in during the rest of the year!) throughout The Rocks, a part of the city that has some interesting colonial history, is crawling with tourists wandering around in a state of disbelief or wonder, and of course at this time of the year they are all mixed up with the teeming locals who are grabbing a cold beer in the ancient pubs in this part of town or are involved in silly season antics. Our was not silly. At least to us. And some brave tourist from Asia was dressed up their wedding gear for their photos. A scenic part of town for your wedding photos. But you do run the risk of having some local ratbag dressed in a pirate costume posing with you. Wonder where he came from? And what their grandkids will think in years to come about visiting Sydney??
