I am a fan of Emanuel Schmidt. Not his biggest fan. I think that medal goes to his wife who is a pretty vocal supporter when she attends any of his gigs. And I am in line behind a whole bunch of others. But his passion for good music is infectious. Tonight he and his trio supported the kids of Cantus Deo, part of the Music, Art and Drama, Dance school at Frenchs Forest Baptist Church. Pretty big of them. Drummer Tim Firth, something of a legend in this town for his drumming, spent time with the Cantus Deo drummer who is all of eleven years old and just loves the sticks Tim is happy to sign and hand over. The “Turn it Up” video clip on the right is a compilation of some of his pieces in 2007 gigs in Surrey Hills. I will use that video spot to run a few more clips of his performances.
